Found this chair with leather seat but don't know anything about it

I found this chair thrown out of an old villa. I love the wood carving and it must have had a beautiful leather seat with engravings and gold-colour hand-painted leaves. It's damaged, there is horse-hair filling sticking out of the seat. I would like to have it restored, but am interested what kind of a chair is it? I think it is a Northwind since there is a face carved in the middle. How old can it be? I would love to learn more. Thank you for any tips.
