Here's one for the glass-masters of CW. This came from a house where pretty much nothing WASN'T over a hundred years old. It was really well-made, very oceanic, sea-creature-like, like a jellyfish or an anemone. The rim is even faceted like a diamond. I'm thinking 1900-1930? Anyone have any leads?
Quite unique and beautiful!
Firstly it's a beauty, shape and colour. Taking its individual parts..... colour, hexagonal cut rim, hobnails between ribs and six pointed feet I would think Welz. I'm guessing that because those features are familiar to me and exist on Welz vases I own.
However I've not seen this particular shape before and to make a definite ID you would need to find someone with this shape in a known Welz décor. Equally I could be wrong!!!
That's a good enough lead for me to go on, I'll start the Googling process
Thanks a lot Sklo!
If you have a black light, I think you will find this most likely glows green under UV. These are cool pieces.
This vase would look awesome with racer4four's green vase
Sklo or Welzbub, any idea on age? Like I mentioned in the description, very few items in the house were under 100 years old, and everything was good quality. Bohemian maybe? 1920-30?
That would be my take on it.....
Incredible for sure.
