I found this item at a thrift store. The vase sits on a heavy, decorative brass base and has a lid with two small flowers on a woody stem for the handle as well as continuing the rope decoration from the base.
These flowers a top were what enticed me to buy the piece as they reminded me of those seen in Germany or Austria.
There are no markings on any of the three pieces, so I've no clue as to the origin. I'd hoped, Austrian, but more likely, India?
The base is about 7" in diameter and the lid is about 5 1/2" high.
The vase is 7" high with a pressed design. Altogether it's about 13" tall.
