    Hi Mr. Tucker,
Attached is before and after with my daughter, the 4-Her. It's certainly been an educational project for her in both learning and refurbishing. Thank you for your interest and help!

    Hello,

I'm trying to locate a general idea on how much this phone may have been sold for back in the 1920s/1930s. Family used it, however my grandparents have passed on and we do not know how much they bought it for. It is a Kellogg Wood Wall Mount Picture Frame Telephone. Oddly, the internet has not been helpful - seems to take me to sites so I can buy one now. My daughter has refurbished it and has learned its history for a 4-H project. We thought it would be interesting to include a cost comparison. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Your Kellogg wall phone was manufactured around 1917 and it sold for $12.25

Thank you for your reply - this is great to know! Do you have a cited resource I could refer to regarding the cost or would you mind if we referred to your expertise/experience in her report?

Part of the information comes from the book History and Identification of Old Telephones by Ron & Mary Knappen copyright 1972. I was one of many who contributed photo's and material for this book. The other part comes from old telephone manufactures catalogs.

Thank you so much! I am a novice at this and appreciate your assistance. We were able to find the book and it arrived in the mail today! My daughter will be educating herself and I will as well on this phone's history. She will ensure her resources are documented properly. Best regards...

Your welcome, I have been collecting old telephones since 1965. Most of the information in Ron's book comes from old telephone manufactures catalogs and long time collectors of antique telephones. Some of the larger telephone Manufactures were Kellogg Switchboard Supply, Western Electric, Stromberg-Carlson, Automatic Electric. There telephones were produced over a long period of time. Your wall telephone with some changes was manufactured from 1917 up to 1940's. some of these phones were still in service into the 1950 and 1960's. Most of these wall phones were still in use in the rural area of America. Happy Independence Day.

The information you have shared has been very valuable! My daughter is almost done with her goal sheet and we have finished the refurbishing of the phone. I'd be happy to show you a picture of the "after" if you'd like to see it (just not sure how to post a picture now). This was our first refurbishing project as well. Though it was secondary to the education on the phone, it took quite a while. Thank you so much for your time and assistance! I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July too! - DeAnna
