This is a Loetz Metallic-Violet Chiné lidded jar. This decor was not on top of my wish list, but when I saw this piece with its lovely color and flower shaped feet I just couldn't resist!
Thanks for looking!
=> About three years after my initial post, I received this Chiné New vase. I think they look very nice together.
Is it documented Loetz ? Metallic-Violet Chiné mounted like this ?
Hi Ivan, you can find this decor in the 'Decors Index A-Z' on Loetz.com.
Beautiful !
oh its lovely very cute & the mauve with chine decor with metal work a gorgeous combination !!!!!!!!
thanks for sharing Laura
Loetz or not, it is gorgeous! Looks like one to me. The color and threading are dead-on. What a unique find!
Spittin' image of a PN 859 or 861. ca 1900! Ricke's notes indicates it may have been a commissioned piece 2521/551 0r 2521/549. The company that ordered it probably had it mounted in the brass/gold fittings...
Thank you, Manikin!
Thank you so much for your kind comments, Malkey!!
Wow, Sammyz, thank you so so much for this fantastic info!!! Very much appreciated!!!
Hi LauraH ... Very nice ... think the correct word for these is "Deckeldose" (or box) ... as opposed to your "bonbonierre" ... although I won't guarantee my spelling on either ... :-)
Hi Steve, you are absolutely right. Deckeldose is the correct term. I was trying to find the English translation for this word and in Dutch we would call this a bonbonnière, but judging by your comment bonbonniere isn't right ;). Deckel means lid and -in this case- dose means box, container or jar,
so perhaps lidded jar would be better? Or just stick to Deckeldose?
What a gorgeous colour!
Thank you, Vintagefran!
