In de middle I can read "Orig. Radierung" which is German for Original Etching. So it must be a German, Swiss or Austrian etching I guess.
Thanks so much! You got me to thinking and I remember that the "name" of the picture is on the left and the artist is on the right. I did some research and found out that the left says "Konstanz" in Germany, so I looked that up and found that the church in the picture is called Konstanz Minster (or Konstanzer Münster in German). Its history begins in 615 and evolves from there. Now to find the name of the artist!
The place where Jan Hus was interrogated and burnt at the stake by Catholic church. This week on Thursday is Jan Hus day, Czech public holiday.
Thanks for that...I read up on it - a very interesting history. Thank goodness we are so much more civilized and rational than in 1415.....oh, wait.....
