    not sure what this is i have 2 of them has a sharp point and on the top you can screw it and it unscrews no idea what it is if anyone knows please let me know

      This is called a trammel point. They come in pairs and are used for scribing and measuring circles - similar in use to a compass but more variable.

      artfoot is correct, from the image/design on it I believe this is a Stanley #2 trammel point. Made from 1870's thru 1950's.
