Here's another cool prize from my favorite thrift store today!
This sturdy glass jar with stainless steel cover was probably once part of a set used in a medical doctor's examination room/clinic/hospital or somesuch. It measures about 7" tall and a little over 4" across, and has the number 2 molded into the center of its bottom. (maybe #2 size, or #2 of the set, or ??) The stainless steel lid is missing its original knob, but is stamped "PROFEX STAINLESS U.S.A." in a ring around the hole where the knob should be.
I'm guessing this might date from the 1960's-70's, since I remember similar canister jars in my own family physician's office as a kid. Looking fwd to displaying it in my bathroom alongside a couple of similar jars I already have full of cotton balls and q-tips...I'm gonna havta find a 3rd 'thing' to store in it?! :-)
Do you need tongue depressors in your bathroom? ;)
