Found this beautiful artwork at a local thrift shop. I bought it mainly because I liked the frame, but upon further inspection I came to realize that this artwork is original, canvas, and signed by the artist-even though I cannot make out what the signature says. Canvas size: 48" x 24", I cannot make out the artist signature. Maybe a piece by one of the Jalava family of artists? There are quite a few similarities between this piece and some Jalava pieces I have found online.
Maybe if you post additional pic's of the signature, I can help you, I have quite a few from the Jalava family.
Regards
Alan
Hello Thomas and Alan,
Thank you for your posts! I will try to get a better picture of the signature on the painting. Unfortunately, it looks like the paint "stuck" to the frame in a few spots over the years, and it is hard to decipher with some of the paint chipped off.
I love it this piece (very serene!), but I do want to preserve it or donate it to a gallery if it really is a piece from the Jalava family.

Well, it depends. Most galleries specialise, and they tend to have too much art to display regularly. If it works with your theme, you can always reframe it and hang it up Away from a sunny spot. Or, sell it. But due to its size, it wouldn't do well to sell it on e-Bay.
Hi, Is there a stamp or label anywhere on the back?
There are no other markings or labels on the back of the canvas or the frame, unfortunately.
