This is Marvin, my new friend. I could not leave him on a shelf, alone as he has such character in his expression and it was almost as though he were telling me his story the way he was looking at me. Anyway, now I have gotten him home, before he decides to open up to me, I have been wondering what some of his story might be.

Does anybody know anything about him? As in what kind of age he might be or where he might have travelled from originally? His eyes are blue glass and his arms, legs and head are jointed and there is a hard circle at his neck. Where he is bare, his material looks like canvas and the bits of him that aren't bare have a kind of velveteen material that I assume originally covered him entirely. His footpads look like suede and his nose is sewn in black wool. Some of him looks hand sewn (his paws and nose) and some of him looks machine sewn?

I love him very much indeed. :)

Thank you if anyone can help me learn anything about him!

How soft is he? The original ones were filled with straw. The newer they get the softer they are. Looks like a fine teddy.

I have a similar one, who has also lost his fur. He has a growler, not working. Mine is UK approx. 1950. Yours is a lovely little chap!
