Hello, I purchased some a trunk with dolls in it , I have no knowledge on any of them. First one. Any information would be grateful Any information on where it's from or how old it might be would be grateful. Thank you in advance she has sleepy eyes and arms and legs are jointed, she seems to have no neck . She was stored in a trunk. I wonder if her neck got smashed into her body?? She is 30 inches tall, she has 2 slips on and a garter her stockings. The dress she has on is what I found here in. I think there original , back of her head says Germany , I'm not sure if that's where the bodies from I did not want to take off her stockings in her shoes to see if her feet are marked or un dress completely. I'm afraid I might chip her body or something, I'm not sure how old she is, her head and her body belong together???/

German Max Handwerck Bisque doll. The mold number is higher up above Max name . Something is wrong with head the way it is sitting . It could have a broke socket( neck) Or It is angle of the photo . It is easier to see when doll is upright and showing neck . She is a wonderful large size and is on a fully jointed composition body which is German made as is her head . It is correct body type for her . I would not be afraid to undress her but leave shoes on ! . You can't hurt body it is tougher than you think . If I had her in my hands I would pull up on head that is kept in place by elastic stringing and will raise up to see if anything is broke . She may have been restrung to tight also at some time . But without holding her hard to say why her head is sitting to low . I supplied a few links to give you a idea about her . She dates about 1890-1920's. She has a typical dolly face . To see what Mold she is or model look under back hair line . She has a nice Mohair wig which can be styled but you get one chance as she will loose hair when you do it .

Mystery solved and her mold number is not that important right now . If you ever sell her you will have to undress her and find out what is wrong with neck called a socket . I love the large size :-)
