A friend just inherited three large paintings, all roughly 24" x 36" give or take. They are all painted on a wood board like a door skin on plywood. Two are framed and matted, the third is not. If there is a signature on the two framed pieces it may be beneath the matt. The first unframed painting of the three women with hats has no signature either that I can find. The only thing it has is written in pencil on the back that says 'The Garden Strollers' 5/50. I hope the photos are clear enough to show how the paint is applied very heavy as an outline (clothes, hat, hair etc.,) but the rest of the paint is smooth.
I am hoping someone recognizes the artist by the style of the work or the subject matter. Thank you in advance for your time.
