Antique brass inkwell with bird topper. Beautiful piece in great condition. There is patina consistent with vintage brass. This piece would have originally had a glass well in the hole for the ink.
But would like to find out who made this and the year (s) of production.
love yo find the history of each item
Are there other reliable sites or sources of information I could check as well. I have quite a few items to post.

Had another one of these on here in the last few days.
Believe yours is a repro as well. The poor quality and odd color (that is not typical brass patina) are big indicators of a modern piece.

Thanks. This is probably the same one. I cleaned it. It's not completely cleaned yet. But it has a lot of pretty detail

OK-- didn't realize this was the same one. Looks like you got rid of most of that green gunk!
If you look on ebay you will find several other examples. When they sell, they usually bring less than $35.

Yes I found two exactly the same and they were selling (pristine condition) for $60. Not that I want to sell mine. I love it
