I bought this bottle at a Vide Grenier (French Car Boot Sale) for 2€ and I just LOVE it.
I have spent hours over the last few weeks looking at pictures on the internet, trying to find something similar. Not a peek.
I assume it is a canning jar, although the lid fits to tightly for a rubber seal. It is 8ins tall and the only markings on it are "1 1/2 l" on the base. No maker, user, nothing.
It is pretty old as it doesn't even have a mold seam. There are a few air bubbles, but that's about it. The glass has an almost silky feel to it. The metal band closure (spring closure?) clips into an indent on either side of the bottle.
I would like to find out more about this bottle but have hit a brick wall and have run out of ideas of where to look next.
Any ideas?
