I purchased this flag on Saturday. We found a little shop hidden behind a car dealership and it was just the right size for feet about ready to call it a day. Very nice lady had political pinbacks, stamps and other military and political items. I know we had one of these flags displayed during the war in Vietnam and my grandmother had two during WWII for my dad and uncle.
That's really interesting. I've never heard of a Mother's Flag until now. Great find!!
My grandmother had one with 2 stars. Wonder what happened to it ?
They are still displayed in windows in the homes of soldiers. I used to see one in the window of a house on the drive to town. Thanks for loving the flag to mikelv, jscott, artfoot, ttomtucker, blunderbuss and TassieDevil. Always appreciate you all.
Love these Son in Service or simply Service Flags-- around since WW1, but probably most popular during WW2.
I was surprised to see them make a return with our actions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

scottvez, I remember my parents displayed a paper one in our front window when my brother was in Vietnam. I bought this one in memory of him as well as every man and woman who have served and are still serving this country. Thanks for the comment, scottvez. Thanks for the loves to SpiritBear, pw-collector and ttomtucker!
