The premier way to travel between Chicago and Los Angeles was aboard the all Pullman Super Chief, operated by the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe (Santa Fe) Railroad. The Super Chief carried dome cars and even had a private 12 seat dining room, the Turquoise Room, that was available for private parties. The Super Chief was a class act, surviving right up to Amtrak. The Santa Fe always played on it's wild west culture and had a great admiration for the Native American culture. The décor aboard their trains was based on Native American art, and their menus featured many Native American scenes. This dinner menu is from the 1970 Super Chief, about a year from its demise. The chimes are ringing. Diner is served! (In case you are wondering what the numbers in red mean, that is most likely how many of each type of meal was served that night during the dinner period)
They should bring it back with the F7A & Bs and all the old cars. People could take land cruises.
