Recently, during my visit to a local Salvation Army store, I spotted this painting - the price was $1.00 - really, one dollar.
I could not believe it. The sales clerk even asked me "Are you sure you want to buy this?" I was sure.
It is an original oil on board, 8"x 10" in perfect condition c.w. a beautiful frame. The painting is called "Queen of the Garden"
It signed by Val Fyke - the address indicated on the back of the painting is 2107 - 9 Avenue NW. Calgary, Alberta.
On the back of the painting it states that the artist obtained:
1 + 2 Diplomas Honors RDS London England in 1938- 9. (would anyone know what this is?)
I have not been able to obtain any additional information.
The old house at the address in Calgary is no longer there.
