I am looking for help identifying the type/age/ history of my trunk. I love it dearly!
It has some type of address written in red ink on the front left edge. It also has a wooden tray and interior.

Hi there and welcome to CW. We do have a lot of experts here to give you info but you have to provide more information and the photos need to show the inside, no matter the condition. Sometimes the material itself is a good sign. Also, on the lock, look closely and you might just find info there! Let us know what it says and they will date it for you. I have one of these too. Mine is large but we can't tell what size yours is unless you give the dimensions. I believe there is an "edit post" on the left of your post, click that and add as much as you can. If you can read what it says on the red tag, write that in the description too. I can't even see the label you are mentioning. Thanks

I do see a little bit of the red writing. It came from Denver, Colorado. Flip up the locking device. There should be a name most likely right on it.

And you need a photo showing the whole trunk. Note there were many many trunk makers and it is very difficult to find out which one it is.

You have a metal covered travel trunk from around the 1920's - 1930's. It is of course American made. Without a makers label (which would have been proudly displayed inside the trunk) it is impossible to know who made it. The writing is the previous owners name, and severed as a luggage tag to identify their trunk. Hope this helps,
      Jim
