Hi there to all my CW friends!

I just erased this whole post but really want to post it because I have a deep desire to learn about it! So thanks all for allowing me to re-word this as best I can. I am clueless about the differences of stoneware vs ceramic pottery. I do know this piece is really heavy at 6 lbs, 9" tall x 8" diameter. The base is 3" diameter.

It is, I believe, hand thrown and the interior is fully glazed with a solid blue, check out the photos so you can see the brown glaze is dripped on the interior, just as it is on the exterior. Almost impossible to get that in a photo but it's the same!

The exterior blue glaze is mottled, then what looks to me to be the color of the clay, smooth but grainy looking that goes to a bright white outline before the darker blue glaze to a brown glaze which is heavily crazed and I'm hoping that means for sure it's older and possibly Asian from the signature on the bottom that is impossible for me to make out.

Thanks all and I appreciate any knowledge anyone can lend to this!

Beautiful vase Susie! The brown dripping down the sides, the applied prunts and contrasting colors add so much visual interest... Luv it!

Rick55, thank you friend! I have never heard the term "prunts" before. Very interesting definition, i just looked up the word and even tho defined as glass fused to another piece for the lack of a handle, it would also fit here. Thanks for that info. I hope I can retain that ;) And it's so cool that the interior is the same drip! Strange though that they would take the time to do that where it really can't be seen!

Thank you Karen, It really does look nice pulling together the cobalt glass, wood and even the metals I have in a nice almost calming way. I really love the "electric" blue in it. This is another I credit you with by the way ;) I honestly did go back for it after I saw your vase with the "prunts" on it! Hey, at least I retained that word for a minute! It may even say "NF" I don't really know. So I'll just say "Studio Pottery". Thanks mama
