Hand vases are sometimes seen in pairs, but typically, both are right handed. Left handed hand vases are quite scarce, no doubt due to the age - old bias against "the sinister hand". So, to put this pair together took time, & a healthy helping of good luck.
As can be seen, there are minor variations in size & finish, but it is clear that both vases are from the same maker, most certainly Bohemian.
Both are made from cased glass - a bright pink over a white interior, & have enamelled & painted decoration. The left hand measures 23 cm tall, 10 cm across the tightly crimped top rim, & 7 cm across the base. The right hand measures 23.5 cm tall, 9 cm across the top rim, & 6.5 cm across the base.
One was found in an antiques shop a suburb away from me, the other spotted in an antiques price guide book some years later. I contacted the dealer, based interstate, & fortunately, the vase was still available to buy.

Many thanks vetraio50! I have one other true pair in plain milk glass, & a small size. Lots more hand vases to come!

Congratulations, I bet there is not many true pair like this around.
      I love the ruffled rims.

Thank you kindly, racer4four...yes, I do count these as one of my finer achievements in collecting. It makes all the hours, days, months, & years of searching worthwhile to put something like this together.

Ignore my last comment, I should looked at these ones first, they do come in left and right :)

      No worries! :-)
There will be one more left & right pair to come when I get around to taking a photo...the hand vases are the most extensive part of my collection, so there's a lot more to come...

Many thanks, aftica1! Yes, collecting certainly provides many interesting adventures & stories. I've done all kinds of things in the name of hand vases & art glass in general. One time I travelled for several hours by train & bus to meet a friend's mother who had a hand vase for sale. Then I had to go all the way back home again! But I had a really nice hand vase to show for my epic trek, & that's all that mattered...

Yes, there are so many stories about finding treasure - my first hand vase that I went back for is probably my most expensive! It was only $10 but I got two traffic tickets on the drive home after going back to pick it up...go figure.
