Old trunk that I bought at an antique shop. They had purchased at an auction. It's painted, but interesting. An immigrant trunk but interesting design. Thought someone might recognize the maker.

It's beautiful
Hi, it's an american made trunk, around mid to late 1880's or so. Without a makers label, hard to say, very common style made by many makers at the time, cross slat design, patented in 1880 by C.A. Taylor. I love the trunks with all cast hardware, if this were mine I would strip off the paint and start fresh, but that's just me, very nice trunk, greendog
Thank you both for comments. I would not know the maker. Greendog, I may get ambitious and try to take it down. It would be pretty. Very nice designs on it.
Also wanted to say that I also have a Martin Maier trunk. Wish I could post who share photo.
Why can't you post it ?
