Clamps slide on aluminum channel about 36" long and 2 3/4 wide. There are 4 aluminum channel pieces. There are 12 clamps .The clamps have a number 29LD. 214. Also letters A C. I have asked many people to help me ID this item , but so far none seems to know
Looks like an early model tap-co metal bending brace. They used multiple clamps, usually five or more.
These are a guide system for router-ing... the rails clamp around the perimeter of the wood (usually a cabinet door) and were supplied with four (4) sets of brown plastic template/contours molds that snapped into place in the inside corners of the braces.... the clamps would slide into channels on the rails and hold the wood and aluminum guides in place. A wood router is then plunged into the wood and you would follow the guide rails and that of the molds for a designed finish on the face of the doors.
They could be purchased at Sears in the 1980's.... I know this because I had purchased a set back in the day and somehow lost the four aluminum rails!! (I do have the rest of the kit and have been looking for the rails without any luck)
Are you looking to sell what you have?
kub1962
are you still looking for these calmps?
I have a set of 4 available.
Thanks
Are you referring to the clamps or the long aluminum rails?
Yes
The Mystery Clamps that thanks to you I know what they are but have no use for. Bought them because I never saw any like it.
From what I understand these are/or where made by Bosch.
There are or where different size (width) channels they could be used with.
They're function is similar to the more modern T-Slot clamps of today. Though as kub1962 mentioned the set you have apparently were used as a router guide.
how do I contact you about the rails?
