    I guess it's wrapped in rattan. it is wheel-thrown stoneware and definitely has some age to it. Japanese or Chinese?

      Do a search for Japan Awaji pottery. I believe that's what it's called.

      Interesting piece if I had it I would place it with my Chinese pottery I think the shape has more of a Chinese feel than Japanese.
