I've been trying to find out information my teddy bear. My great grandpa gave it to my grandpa as a present when he was a toddler: 1950s. He handed it down to my dad and I took it. I slept with it every night as a child and it went on every vacation and sleep over with me. And it was not new when I got it so needless to say it's got some wear on it. My grandma did some patch work on it to keep it from falling apart on the hands, feet, and ears you can see her work in the close up foot picture. But the glass eyes and rubber snout are original. I'm interested in finding out just what kind it is and maybe try to find another one. I've tried to find information online and I'm stuck between it being an ideal toy or a gund cubbi. What are your thoughts?

I have compared and contrasted and still going with Ideal. The body may not be exactly the same but the rubber nose is an exact match. The gund has little dots to simulate whiskers just under the nose and there is a longer distance between the nose and mouth. There are also a few other differences.
Ideal had variations on the body but the muzzle is consistent.

Thank you. That's what I'll look for then. Way back when I believe mine had those dots on the snout. The ears, hands, and feet have been covered on mine because of how worn out they were. Do you know how hard it is to find an ideal bear?

I think that one is a Gund. Look up google images for both.
