The red, yellow, black spatter decor has been identified as a decor used by Franz Welz Klostergrab. In the Welz section on the Kralik-glass.com website there is a panel showing this decor on a large variety of shapes that I'm betting is only a small sample of the shapes produced in this decor. I offer this as one more.

This piece stands 8" (20.2 cm) tall and has a diameter of 3 1/2" (8.8 cm) at the top and bottom. From what I've seen, this is a somewhat variable shape in the middle and a shape that was probably used by several glass houses. Attributing this to Welz by shape alone would probably not be a good idea but a recognizable decor is a more useful indicator.

Since the red, yellow, black spatter also contains oxblood frit and is on a clear ground, the third picture shows it alongside a recognized Welz shape in the same decor and also on a clear ground. That piece also clearly has oxblood frit in the mix.

The fourth picture shows acid-stamp marks on the bases of the two vases. Both are marks that are often found on Welz products.

I don't want to ring the bell too loudly but the evidence seems to tell me this is a Welz piece.

This is a Welz piece. Both the shape and the decor are linked solidly to their production. This shape has been identified in 11 different decors, several of which are markers for Welz production.

Thanks Craig - I was pretty sure this would be Welz but I'm trying to be cautious in my attributions. :+)
Thanks Malkey and Peggy - input is always appreciated.
