    This small (5.5" x 8.5", frame 14"x 18") pencil/ watercolor painting - dated 1851 - has been in my husband's family since 1920.
In 1920, while my future father in law was working as a mountain guide in Austrian Alps, somebody gave him this painting.
In 1968, he gave this painting to his son (my future husband) and shortly after, he died. His wife died just a few days after.
Subsequently, his notes pertaining to the history of this painting got lost and nobody in the family remembers the name of the artist or any other detail.

Very nice painting Eli! Whoever framed this and chose the color, did a great job of complementing the gold and browns of the painting. : )

Good morning Rick, thank you for your comment. I was lucky to find the very old picture frame (complete with a damage from a mouse) at the local Thrift store.
