Vintage Silver Bracelet with Oval cut stones of amber (faux?) .

I think the link is interesting on this one. I like the colors of the stones..they vary (to me) from an amber/honey color to hints of red/orange.

I don't think this is very old but am unsure. No mark/stamp from a maker. Ugh, I just realized I don't think I have a pic of the silver stemp. Will take another pic.

Karen, if that is sterling silver, that green is not patina. It's either left over polish or it's corrosion and it needs to be removed. Check other pieces that were near it to see if they have been 'infected' with it. And if it's been in a jewelry box, you will want to take everything out of the box and clean that well too. That will destroy your jewelry. If it were mine, I would give it a good soak in warm soapy water with some windex in it too and after a bit, take it out and use an old toothbrush on it to remove all that green. I would also make sure the water remains warm so you'd have to change it often. Please wait until you get a couple more thoughts on it before you do anything, just to be sure. I don't always do what others do but that's just me...so for your own knowledge, I'd go ahead and wait. It's already been there quite a while it seems anyway.

Wait a minute, why is it green in the 2nd photo and not in the other 2?!? LOL I freaked out just a bit there, didn't I? lol!

um...my bad picture taking skills? lol.....I was ready to start really tearing things apart and since I have my collection separated into 'My Mom's'; 'My Grandmother's'; 'Mine Already'; and 'Mine Acquired Recently;...lol (ultimately those last 2 will be collapsed into one collection.

I'm having the hardest time looking/trying to track down other people's items they reference for me to look at. I click on their name and look for 'Costume Jewerly' etc. and sometimes I only see other folders for them like 'Antique Toys'.

      I'm sure it's easy and I'm just complicating it..lol

And I appreciate you caring about the shape and condition of my jewelry and mentioning a possible issue which from what you've described sounds like something to avoid at ALL costs!

yes, it's best not to use any of the liquid polishes at all, I don't think they ever come off completely. I'm not sure what you are trying to look for? If you go to someone's name and click on it, you can then see where it says, "see all posts", click that, you will see all that persons posts. You will just have to look through all of them if they did not leave you a link in the comments. I hope that's clear enough for you to understand.

Definitely clear enough. For some reason I thought the posts would be organized under the original category folders.

I know the area you mean 'see all posts'....there are just a LOT out there..lol. Thanks for confirming that for me. Someone had mentioned that an item I listed as a brooch may have originally been a shoe buckle and the pin added later to make it into a brooch. They directed me to their posts and said I could...oh, don't have the right words, but basically look for a shoe buckle they posted.

No, it would have been much easier for you had they left a link. Maybe they didn't know how.

The purity stamp is probably on the big oval toggle ring. The uncut oval shape is called cabochon. I don't see any verdigris (green gunk) on the bracelet - that just happened to be the color of the photo.
