1917 Anheuser Busch Crate with 21 - 7 1/4" bottles.
Unsure if bottles are correct to the crate?
Most do have numbers stamped on bottom side most start with 17-8-35 etc. All starting with 17 some have numbers on bottom 8 -2 -1 etc.
Bottoms are smooth
Any info appreciated on these bottles
Budweiser made repro crates back in the late 60's. Might want to ck it out if you haven't already. I was given one by a distributor friend but it didn't have the partitions.
Thank you for the information on my Crate is there a way to tell if it's a reproduction from the 60s also any info on the bottles that are in the Crate?
I'm not a bottle guy, so can't help there. I'm thinking the crate is probably real because the partitions don't appear to be add-on. Still best to have it authenticated. Even the re-pops are about 50 yrs old and collected.
In my opinion the bottles look to be from 1917 also. The number 8 you mentioned is actually a B. I am guessing the 17 is for 1917 and the B would likely indicate the Buck Glass Co. out of Baltimore, Maryland. I am unsure of the last two numbers?
I have a bottle almost exact to yours except mine has 17 S 29, my interpretation being 1917, S (American Bottle Co, Streater, Illinois) 29 (?).
My bottle has a 'Grape Bouquet, Anheuser Busch, Inc. St. Louis, Mo" paper label attached. Also seen the Bevo Brand Beverage by Anheuser Bush on the same type bottle.
I agree with Bottle Bud. Only issue is, where are the labels?
