I am really, really, really hoping that my dream of finding a West Coast Salish blanket finally came true. This is a very fragile old blanket. I love it even though it is a bit stinky! What does everyone think?

You have close-up pictures of the weave used in your blanket. You can compare to pictures of the twill weaving and twine weaving techniques that the Salish used...

I think this weaving is over one under one. Did the Salish use this technique sometimes? I am not a weaver. I just love old textiles. I do think this is an old trade blanket of some kind. Not sure from where? Thanks Noob for your information.

I just researched that the Salish did use over one under one weaving plus two over one under. Still no idea where this is from. I imagine it is made from goat fur. Will have to take it to an expert.
