I fear we are just at the tip of the iceberg for the butterfly collection. Someday I will post my butterfly wall. I have had to put a few upstairs as that wall is full.
The large moth in the center has a 6" wingspan, it is my second largest moth. And as seen is accompanied by several other butterflies.
This seems to be an older collection from Thailand. Possibly just the frame was made in Thailand but Thailand and east Asia is a major source for butterfly collections.
Various signs point to this as being older. The specimens are pressed against the glass by the stuffing in the case. The newer ones raised but with no pins sticking out the top. Plus the newer ones are labeled as to which each one is. Still yet another sign is that this one is user friendly. It can easily be opened with no tools. The newer ones are meant to stay sealed and take effort to open them.
The last photo shows it in its current home. This could change as I move things around.
Another nice set, love the colors, Are the bodies paper on these?
The collection from Taiwan I have the wings are real and the body paper.
Your collections vary to many interests and I do love butterfly's I call them Flutterbys . I have a collection of them also several came from Brazil . Your walls most be so interesting with all your collections :-)
Thank you very much 2P. These all have 100% insect bodies and wings.
Thank you very much Manikan. Blue Morphos? I fear my wall is too interesting. At least the butterfly wall is.
