A few weeks ago I posted one of these vases - in the meantime I have acquired it's mate so the pair are reunited. These vases are a true pair with regard to the applied decoration, as they are a mirror image of each other - cherries to the left on the latest one, cherries to the right on the first one I purchased. The left vase is also slightly more intensely green than the right.
Both vases are made from cased glass which contains uranium & glows under UV light. They have applied decoration of branches, leaves, flowers, & cherries, with subtle differences in the colouration of these details.
English or Bohemian? Hard to say.
Another true pair! That's fantastic.
yeah just absolutely super getting the pair !!!!!!!! congratulations IronLace
What a lovely pair, there's so much going on in them. I love the cherries either side.
Many thanks racer4four, MALKEY, & Vintagefran - it is indeed a joy to have these together, they are to me the consummate expression of everything I love about Victorian art glass.
Love this beautiful pair!

Thanks so much, Scott!
What good fortune......and double the impact too!
Many thanks, sklo42! They certainly do make a statement...
Lovely!! and in green like my envy : )
Thank you most kindly, Marty! I know I've said that I'm trying not to buy any big glass, but how could one possibly turn these down? :-)
I just saw this in a basket form today in a consignment shop in Venice FL. There was no mark on the bottom. The consigner had it marked as Swedish
Very nice pair!
