I got a colson company Flyer elyria,Ohio USA. I'm guessing this is a 1930's something not much info online about it. I've seen pics of a 1933 and 1939 there close but no cigar.Mine has red rubies in the end of all 4 grips and it has a head light on it . On the handle bars is a round battery in a cylinder it looks sorta like a road flare. On the rear hub it says Eclispe machine division made in Elmira, N.Y. Usa and i think the ser # is 4e3676. Possibilty it's a 1936 ????? Orig. color was red and white on front neck with white pin stripes. Any info on this would be appreciated. thanks for looking..e-mail me if you have info johnboyf7883@yahoo.com
The grips and headlight were both aftermarket items, I remember putting those grips on several bicycles I owned. I will look see if I can find anything else.... It keeps me busy !
You are correct ! It seems that your bike is missing it's original chain guards and the grips would have been 'ball end' follow this link to see more :http://www.bicyclebill.com/Bikecomppages/Colson.html That was Fun ! enjoy....
Maybe not. This bike and yours look earlier to me. http://www.flickr.com/photos/33328053@N06/4017980108/

i agree with toolate2 the he found is identitcal to mine but much nicer. the pics pop-abides pointed out i've seen and the post under the front seat is different it has 2 cross bars for brace and mine is one. i agree it 's closer to a 1933. thanks to both of you for your help muchly appreciated and more info the better.
is there any #s & letters on crank hanger. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tandem-Rear-Steer/232410123469880
As I understand there was an early and a late version of these. The early ones did not have chain guards (I have been told). I have a later '39-'41 version with the "eyebrow" guards. (see my gallery for pics)
