Hey so this was found in a Bush in virden, manitoba, Canada all I know about it is that there's a pin in the point that slides up and down. The tip spins, and the things on the side move in and out of the unit. Anyone I have asked doesn't have a clue about what it is?

Well I'm not sure if this will help any but it is quite similar to tools we used in the oil industry to repair and maintain oil well pipelines. Called Wireline, the tools are that shape and have clips on the side which click into place as you drop it down the pipe shaft (the pipes have ports built into them at certain intervals to recieve these tools). Are there, or was there any land based oil sites in the area?
