Butterfly diorama from Brazil or it may have been Peru as I think about it . This large shadow box was bought in Brazil as a gift to me 20 years ago . I do love butterflies and I call them flutterbys . It is quite large on wall so excuse any glare it was hard to capture the beauty of the metallic Blue Morpos samples that are resting on a cork log . For Fortapache :-) Not sure what the brown and white ones are called . They are all large with average wingspan of 4 to 5 inches on each one in case .
Excellent collection. Do not often see more than one morpho in a collection.
It is hard to photograph due to the glare from the glass I have that problem often.
Thank you fortapache and yes taking a photo of picture on wall is hard I tried several times and this was best I could do . Thank you for stopping to check them out :-)
Thomas many thanks for stopping and yes I do post once in awhile . I used to have many posts but was finding my posts on sites that used my photo's and I deleted them all :-(

Wondering where you were Mani? Ca va ?
Very Nice Manikin!
This is a beautiful display of the wondrous flutterbys. I think it so good that it is scenic, rather than a scientific mount. That blue! Just pours light, it's so gorgeous!!
Hiya bb2 Ca va and you ? Nice to see you drop by . Always glad to see you but you know that :-)
Many Thanks Racer I agree I love it is a natural scene more like nature , and I appreciate you stopping and leaving such a nice comment .

Mani! Those are superb flutterbies ;-) !!!
Very nice diorama :-D
Beautiful!
All magnificent butterflies, did not know you had a display yourself ! I love them all. xoxo
Not a bit of glare and I am so glad I did not miss seeing it this time around. It certainly lovely and the electric blue just pops out at you. Wow, it would be so awesome to see some like that fluttering around here! And they are huge too. So awesome.
The colors on these are simply stunning Mani! The way it's presented, with the butterflies floating above the twigs etc., is such departure from your typical butterfly collections which are one dimensional.
Phil I have several butterfly displays I recently took many down I was seeing to many :-) Thank you for being a friend and always supporting my collections xo
Hi shareurpassion and many thanks for stopping by and seeing my flutterby's . It is my favorite of all the ones I have :-)
Thank you Rick I appreciate the nice comment and always so nice to see you stopped by :-)
You are so welcome and I can clearly see why you would love that set of flutterby (s) Just trying to put some poetic humor in there... haha
Oh wow....we used to call them flutterby(s), too! LOL...
Lovely diorama!!
KarenLR71 I think they should rename them flutterbys since that is what they do . What did they ever have to do with butter lol . Many thanks for stopping and sharing that :-)love love

Thank you sklo42 so nice to see you stopped I appreciate it :-)
Hey Manikin, nice display. Do you know when these were made? These are prohibited here in Brazil now. Here's a film from 1936 showing how the poor butterflies were abused back then https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpCKxNBLzRM
mcheconi I had to correct myself since I think it was Peru but I have forgotten . I have had it over 20 years if that helps . I am against killing butterflies I love them free . I received this as a gift . I have some that are much older since I think they were mounting butterflies even in Victorian times . I will watch video now and likely feel sad :-( Thanks for sharing that and stopping I am always happy to see you
Merry Christmas Manni I hope you are well and with loved ones this holliday season.
Cheers
Roy
