My Boyfriend won a bunch of dolls at an auction and this Doll was in the box it's marked 1923 with a symbol I can't make out. The doll's head is ceramic I think and it's face and hair is hand painted and the face has a rough texture feel to it that you can feel the paint brush strokes also the dolls eyes look hand drawn with a pen or some sort of writting instrument such as that.
She/He measures at approx 12 inches in length
With a all cloth body.
The mark is for a "Bye-lo Doll" by Grace Putnam . However yours has either been repainted badly I can not tell if it is porcelain or composition . So I need her nude please post another with no clothes on . It may have been made in a doll making class where they sold you a blank mold of antique doll for you paint . It is painted wrong and by a untrained painter. Porcelain is never rough on a antique doll .
I can see part of body by back of neck . This mold was either cast in very bad quality porcelain or something but is is a doll made in a ceramic class or someone tried to do it themselves from a mold and poured it with clay mix ? at any rate it is a reproduction of a Bye-lo doll and is not old but made recently around 1980s-90's.
