My parents purchased this lamp at a garage sale go a dollar about 30to 35 years ago. Original owners received the lamp as a wedding gift. Lady thought it was to risqué once kids were born. Set in closet many years. Parent displayed lamp until they got a big dog and thought he would get broken, so back into a closet it went for years. It was forgotten about until they just sold their house

It's quite beautiful - as you say might have been a bit risque for young children? In the first photo it looks like it may have a frayed cord.

It would certainly distract my t.v. viewing, and would prefer it to be in my bedroom. Shame the pictures aren't right side up.

I wish my Dad would be kind enough to give it to me to display it on my entertainment center. Dad is 91 and can't part with it. But he keeps it tucked away in a closet. Both my Mom and my brothers say it's ok if I get it.
Found out it was made around WWI out of alacite glass. It is a highly collectible lamp.
