Got this item in a box of tools that I purchased at a garage sale.
    No markings on it.
It is solid metal, well built and heavy.
Any ideas what it's used for?

Hello all........ this tool is used in the glazing trade......when we have a large plate of glass that is being glazed in to a shop front, if it is too big the glass would be cut and then nipped off with this tool, as it allows you to get over the top edge of the glass where glass pliers would too long.
      We call it a Gunger.

Sheet metal work, it would be a "nibbler".
