    Hi all,

I could use some help identifying the maker of this drip glaze vase that I purchased about a year ago at an estate sale in Pittsburgh, PA. There's black ink mark on the base but it's partially worn off making it harder to read. It also has some writing (looks like red crayon or china marker). That appears to read "BK" over "4.50" over "5-4." Thank you for any thoughts on the maker of this beautiful vase.

While the black mark on the bottom isn't consistent with other pieces I've seen, the horizontal ridges, glaze and base make me think this could be Roseville Imperial.

I can definitively rule out Roseville Imperial. Glaze is reminiscent of early production "Monterey Jade" line, by Monterey Pottery circa 1948 into the 50s. I'm certain I've seen the mark before, but can't place it. Perhaps one of the North Carolina potteries? (just a wild guess, in case nothing else pans out).

Thanks for the suggestions! While I see the similarity with the Monterey line, I think we can rule that by the difference in the base. Glaze, while similar in color, also has some distinct differences. I'll have to do some research on the North Carolina potteries. I'm not familiar with those.

One detail to add about this vase, the clay color is not actually that pink. Photo of the base is slightly off color-wise.
