fR]rom what I have been able to research. These small tubes and toroid transformers were used to trigger the first atomic bombs. The charges that caused the bomb to explode had to be triggered simultaneously.
There was a (high) voltage applied to the tune and the toroid cores applied a trigger to the tube to conduct like a fast switch.
They have the radioactive symbol on them but when checked with a radiac no activity was indicated
I could be wrong on my research.
