This interesting vase arrived today - it was described as 1920s Czech glass, but I am not certain, having not seen anything quite like it. That's what made me take a chance on it...
It is made from three layers of cased glass - clear over deep pink, with a white interior. For it's size, it is quite heavy. There are two applied serpentine trails, one black, the other with a silver overlay (or metallic iridescence, hard to say). The applied footed base is a fine spatter mix of deep red & black. The vase measures 16 cm tall, 1.8 cm across the cut & ground top rim, & 6.5 cm across the base.
Any thoughts on this piece would be much appreciated. Whoever made it had skill, as there is quite a lot going on in it, yet it all holds together with considerable elegance.
It's magic!
Many thanks - & can't wait to find out more about it, if possible...
