I found this antique apothecary cabinet at an Estate Sale. I was told it was purchased by the owner in Malaysia, and that it is made of Elm Wood. I fell in love when I saw it. It has 45 drawers. Each of the small drawers is divided into 4 compartments. It has all of the hardware. There are no makers marks of any kind that i can find. I would love to find out the approximate age of this piece. I will keep it as long as I live.
That's GORGEOUS!!! I could put a lot of jewelry in there..... :-))))))
What a find - a lovely piece of furniture.
This is awesome and in the same kind of condition...awesome. Have you looked under and behind each drawer? There may be numbers on the back of each drawer pull which may help identify it. It's just gorgeous.
I would never remember which drawer I put something in. I'd probably have every drawer out before I found something! haha A good file system must be put in order.
What a fabulous find ! I love it
Oh I could get sooooo much stuff in there....
Thank you all! I just love it! I did pull out all of the drawers, and someone has scratched a number into the back of each drawer. (To keep them in order?) I would guess it was not the maker of the piece because the scratched in numbers look like they were done with a pocket knife, not really in perfection.
The owner said she kept her children's socks in there! LOL
I'll be keeping a lot of nick-knacks in here. I want each drawer to hold a surprise treasure, and possibly filled with more antique miniatures and such.
Dang, her kids socks? LOL! What was she, old mother hubbard? How many kids did she have and could they really reach the top drawers? That is just too funny!
Super interesting AND stunningly beautiful! I recently bought an old cabinet with the Exact same drawers in it! i will post a pic as soon as i can get my phone camera fixed. But i also have no idea where it came from or who crafted such beauty. I am also super curious to know any further information.
