This doll belonged to my Mother and I have searched everywhere to try and find out what the markings mean. I think she is bisque and has moveable arms and legs and is 30cm tall. The stamp on the back of the neck is EW 1987 - A.O.M - D.R.M.R and a W. I would appreciate any help identifying her. Many thanks
She is a reproduction of a German made doll by Armand marseille Doll googly eye.
The blank mold from a original doll was sold in a doll making class and EW initials of person that painted it in 1987 and ceramic store fired it it for you and sold bodies ,wigs ect when making your own doll was popular and a true antique doll like her was very expensive . So EW is just a regular lady or man not a doll artist . D.R.M.R is just means it is registered more often you see D.R.M.G . Make for a nice display doll but not a Antique Bisque doll . Armand used several different mold numbers for their googly eye dolls I can't see the number on yours maybe you can it will be 3 number like 243 ect .
Welcome to CW !
That is really great - thank you very much. Finally I can put a history to the lovely little doll, your knowledge is amazing.
Your very welcome glad I could help :-)
