About 1990 I went to an onsite auction in a very rural setting,
near today's White's Ferry, Md. very near the Potomac River.
The small farm house had been owned by a farmer who
kept these Civil War bullets, etc. that he found during the
years that he lived, and worked there.
The smaller bullet is for a Colt revolver, and the brass button is
Civil War period, and the Southern soldiers sometimes wore
buttons similar to this one.
This area was patrolled constantly early in the war, and was
occupied from time to time by the South.
