This set was my brother-in-law's aunt's. The underneath of the chairs have tags that indicate it was made by Stanley Furniture in Stanleytown, Va. I have no idea what it's made of, I've been told possibly mahogany? And I have no idea what 'style' you'd call it or what collection it might belong to. There are 5 side chairs and a captain's chair. The table has one leaf that is built in - you unlock the table and the leaf swings up from underneath and opens. There is the china cabinet, the long buffet, and the smaller cabinet (like a mini-buffet?). There is also a small oval table that I believe goes with it. It has the same style legs; same carvings. I have no idea how old it is; we are guessing it is from the 1930's or 40's. It shows some normal wear and tear (obviously, it's probably 80 years old). The table top and buffet top really should be refinished. But it's a beautiful set! If anyone knows anything more about this set, I'd love to hear it.

I believe it is walnut wood. Later 30's to 1940's. Very much like what was in the old catalogs, quite decorative !
Absolutely gorgeous. The long 'buffet' would have held all the linens, the smaller one holding the silver utensils and the tall one for all the china. That's all just a guestimate but I believe I'm close on that. I'm a little surprised the tall one doesn't have glass instead. I'm sure the housekeeper was happy about that though. Super nice.
Thanks @scottvez! I stumbled upon this site today looking for answers to my mystery, and now I am hooked! @shareurpassion There is glass in the tall cabinet. It's behind the decorative swirls of wood...a housekeeper's nightmare! LOL
