This is my second Gem Can Opener that was supposed to come with a wall bracket but did not have one. One would think I would learn but no. Still this is a cool can opener and with the original box. I can still mount it to the wall but I will wait until I get the bracket. The bracket stays on the wall and the can opener can be removed so you don't have it sticking out of the wall all the time.
There is a patent date and it goes back to 1927. It was probably made in the 1930s. Let's be rebels and call it an antique even though it isn't 100 years old yet.

Fortapache If all that you've listed lately was from the Rose Bowl purchases, you've found a good access to great times of old. Thank You

Thomas, have you ever used one of those army P-38's to open a can. Don't sell your knife. Still have a couple of those around somewhere.

Very cool Fort! I remember having one, not exactly like yours, that my mom would use. Unfortunately, I was too short to reach it and play with it. Lol

Thank you very much Thomas. The trick I am told is buy the most expensive one you can find. They do have a tendency to work badly. Throw Also throw them out if they don't have replaceable when they don't work.

BB2 means the famed can opener. The 20mm on the other P-38 will work too.

They were invented in 1855 and most you can buy are crapola. The choice we are given is: buy the expensive one or spend more by periodically replacing the cheap ones. I'm surprised some American hasn't developed one that runs on petrol. (or nuclear) LOL !!

Yes BB2 it is that way. Perhaps a depleted uranium can opener.
