    I have updated the photos to provide detail of the piece. Can any one tell me anything about our sofa? We live in central Kentucky. It's been in my family for years. It looks hand carved. In great condition. We believe the time period is from 1860-1870 but this is just a guess. An estimated value of the couch would be great.

      Much better pictures!

      Looks to be an Eastlake settee-- probably from right at the end of the 19th century.

      Base wood is walnut.

      From my experience these don't bring a great deal now. Most buyers would look to reupholster and that would be factored in.
