We used to use these to pull the well; pipe to replace or clean the sand points from the wind mill. they are both cast iron and heavy.used these for years to keep the pumps from clogging up.

If you used these to pull well points you gotta be old or they were passed along.

Two of the most important tools needed, if you own, and service your own windmill and pump, which i do. Down pipe pulling dog on the left, and down pipe holding tool on the right. Both still sold today, some with improvements tho. You can get way with pipe wrenches, and clamps, but the first time you drop the pipe, sucker rod, and pump to the bottom of the well, you will change your mind. I have never seen a pipe holder quite like yours, with a rotating pipe size choice? How old is it, and what does it read on the top of the wheel? Very Nice!
