This is a very crisp cabinet card that shows some great details.
The man has an oval photo brooch pinned to his lapel. A blow up image(photo #2) shows the clear view of what would appear to be his wife and young child!
The image shows details that are normally fuzzy.
The image was photographed by Grass Valley California photographer, Beatty.

I had some relatives from the Grass Valley area, bu don't recognize the gentleman.
In the second & third photo you can see the t-bar of his pocket watch chain.
