An incredible 30 Reel to Reel, 8 inch commercial Master Tapes of Sinatra found! Each one features original recordings of Sinatra singing & performing on Radio, Concerts, Nightclubs, Stage, World Tours & Studio Rehearsals over a 30 year period.They date from his early years on radio in the mid 1940's where he promoted Chesterfield or Lucky Strike cigarettes & also a programme where he
promoted War Bonds on radio in the period of World War Two, through to many performances on stage,concerts & World Tours etc ending in the 1980's. The 30 tapes were found in far away Australia! Even more incredible the tapes were thrown away & found in a local dump in Australia!.In perfect condition & obviously properly stored over the years as magnetic tapes need to be,they produced clear sound & astounded the owner who was unaware of what he had found until played on his Reel to Reel recorder.! Even more incredible he was a true blue Sinatra Fan with a very large collection of his Records! It was a fate ordained!
Now the Mystery Remains to be Answered.
(1)Who owned these Tapes?
(2) How did they end up in Australia?
(3)Who recorded them & who had all of these Tapes in their personal possession as these are original Master Tapes only made & kept by the Management! Perhaps these are originals kept by Frank himself,that somehow all ended up together in Australia?
I hope that someone out there can throw some light on this,which must be the most intriguing mystery of the Century!
