I have finally got round to looking through a bag of stones that I have collected over the last few years of rooting around in the bottom of jewellery cabinets and looking for bits & bobs, I am wondering if anyone can tell me more about this stone I have picked out.

I have a pandora ring with a black spinel stone, this stone looks similar but that is just my opinion.
Ok thanks Jean, I keep thinking I can see blue tinge when moved in the sun.

What you have there may very well be a mineraloid called jet. Just search for "jet stone" and compare the pictures to your stone. If it is cool to the touch like glass it is probably not jet.
Yes this is more cold and stone like , I think jet is lighter in weight thanks
